Park St Episode 1 wrap

But after finally clapping eyes on the finished product, I'm already stoked for next week's instalment. So let's recap the highlights of the debut episode, shall we?1. How awesome is CLEO ed Gemma Crisp? A former DOLLY ed herself, Gemma is down to earth, funny and relatable (with an awe-inspiring shoe collection to boot). I actually said http://www.tffjewellerysales.co.uk/ out loud, "I really want to be friends with Gemma." Then I remembered that: a) she was sitting across the room from me while we watched the show, and b) I obviously already know her, so maybe stop acting like a total fangirl. The shame. 2. Even though I already knew from Cosmo top dog Jess Parry that the day was eventually saved, I was on tenterhooks waiting to see if Jessica Mauboy would turn up to their fashion shoot. It's a feeling I could relate to as it's not uncommon for a celeb to be late to a shoot thanks to a million and one factors. Sometimes they have a big paying gig booked, the filming of their TV show runs late, they get sick or (naming no names here) they get a better offer! We shot 20-plus celebrities recently for a Tiffany Bangles Sale DOLLY shoot (and yes, you will get to see it on the show) and trying to find time in everyone's schedules was a logistical nightmare. It may seem like all fun and frivolity in the world of the stars, but these guys often have timetables that I find exhausting just looking at. Side note 1: How awesome is Cosmo fashion director Nicole? Another girl crush is born. Side note 2: Jess Mauboy graced our cover a few months back and we LOVED shooting with her. She's one of the nicest celebs you could have the pleasure to meet and is one of those rare creatures who's possibly even more beautiful in the flesh than in her glossy photo shots. 3. Did I mention I wish I'd worn more make-up? It's slightly confronting watching yourself on a big screen and realising that you just shared with the world that you're kind of a saddo who wakes up regularly at 2am to write yourself notes on what to do the next day. I wish I could tell you I'd made it up for the cameras but unfortunately that was the unedited truth. Also yes, we did end up adding a quiz to the mix. Big thanks to deputy ed Harriet to putting up with my last-minute "brain waves" with a constant smile on her face. Also, next 2am note to self: Stop clutching your head like the world's about to cave in - you may think nobody's noticed your stress, but trust me, it's written all over your (bare) face. 4. SHOP til you drop ed Justine Cullen is hands down one of the funniest people I've met in the Park Street halls. While she was a little on the quiet side in this ep, I'm really looking forward to seeing more of her in the weeks ahead - despite being a total glamazon she's self-deprecating, quick with a one-liner and really approachable. I hope you all like her as much as I do. Also wait until you meet her two kids. Just. Too. Cute! 5. Advertising and editorial: two different departments, occasionally two very different agendas. We usually work together pretty harmoniously - Carolyn Innis was right, we CAN'T put out a magazine with Tiffany Necklaces Sale no ads in it. We don't have a lot of interaction with Carolyn so it was really fascinating to see how "the other side" operates! 6. Last but certainly not least, madison editor Elizabeth Renkert completely echoed my sentiments when it came to my younger self thinking of one day sitting in the editor's chair. While all of us may have harboured the dream of landing the job, none of us could let ourselves believe we'd ever be here. It's a privilege none of us take lightly and an experience that we're all relishing. Well, most of the time anyway! So that's it from me until next week. I hear episode two looks at magazine covers and what goes into creating an "I must buy you NOW" one. It's one of the most time-consuming and occasionally cut-throat parts of our jobs so it could be (manicured, of course) nails drawn at dawn. iPhone toys for their kids

Parents buying iPad and iPhone toys for their kids Crayola allows tots to doodle on the iPad using its iMarker just as they would a crayon on a colouring book. Tweens are able to belt out their http://www.tffjewellerysales.co.uk/ favourite Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez tunes on a Disney microphone that turns the tablet into a karaoke machine. And technology accessories company Griffin enables teens to fly its toy helicopter by using the iPhone as a remote control. This holiday season, toy makers have turned Apple's pricey tablet and smartphone into playthings for kids. They figure in this weak economy, parents will be willing to splurge on toys for their children that utilise devices they already have - or want - themselves. Tiffany Fessler of Gainsville, Georgia, certainly was willing to do that even though when she initially bought her $US829 ($A809) iPad she never Tiffany Bangles Sale imagined she'd be sharing it with her 20-month-old son. But whenever she sat down to check emails on the iPad, he'd climb into her lap wanting to use it. So, Fessler decided to get him the $US29.99 Crayola iMarker, which transforms the iPad into a digital colouring book using a Crayola's free ColorStudio HD application that parents can download. Kids can draw and colour using the iMarker, which has a soft tip so it doesn't scratch the tablet's glass screen. "When you have a screaming toddler in a restaurant or any public area, you want to have something to calm him down with," says Fessler, 39. "This is just another way to keep him entertained." That the iPad and iPhone, which can cost as much as $US849, have infiltrated the $US22 billion toy market this season is no surprise. Smartphones and tablets - particularly Apple products - are more popular than ever with people of all ages. This year, Apple is expected to double the number of iPhones sold to 90.6 million worldwide, according to research firm Gartner, while the number of iPads sold is expected to triple to 46.7 million. And Apple products have a certain "cool factor" with kids that toy companies, which can make up to half of their revenue during the holidays, are hoping to tap into. In fact, the iPad and iPhone are among the most coveted electronics this holiday Tiffany Necklaces Sale season among kids. About 44 per cent of six- to 12-year-olds want the iPad this year, according to a survey by research firm Nielsen. The iPod touch came in the number two spot with 30 per cent, followed by the iPhone at 27 per cent. Not to mention, anyone who's a parent knows all too well that babies and older kids alike love to fiddle with or drool all over mommy's iPad. Nearly 40 per cent of two-to four-year-olds have used a smartphone, iPad or video iPod, according to a survey by nonprofit group Common Sense Media. That number rises to 52 per cent for five- to eight-year-olds. And even 10 per cent of infants have used one of the devices before their first birthday. "It's mostly something for kids to use in the car or at the doctor's office," says Chris Baynes, a toy analyst. "It's a way to get the kid to be quiet." With that in mind, Crayola teamed up with Nashville, Tennessee-based Griffin Technology, which is mostly known for selling iPhone and iPad cases and car chargers, to make the iMarker and the ColorStudio HD app for kids. The iMarker, which is like a stylus that resembles a Crayola marker, is targeted at children ages three and up. "Regardless of who they buy it for, once it is in the household, we know that kids use it," says Vicky Lozano, vice president of marketing at Crayola, which makes the iMarker. Other toy makers also have gotten into the game: Griffin's $US49.99 remote-controlled toy helicopter is aimed at teens over 14. Called the HELO TC, it flies using a device that plugs into an iPhone, iPad or iPod. The case locks the iPhone into a colourful, easy to grab case that looks like a big round rattle. The case stops babies from making unwanted calls and protects the iPhone from something else: drool. Parents can open up three free apps that play music, read words aloud and count numbers. The Disney Spotlight microphone, which is $US69.99 or $US99.99 for a wireless version, plugs into the iPad and allows kids to sing along to Disney songs from shows such as Hannah Montana - or to their own music - and record their own music video. Disney's $US79.99 AppClix digital camera enables kids to upload their pictures to an iPad and a free app allows them add Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck into the photos. And Disney teamed up with Canadian toy maker Spin Master to create Appmates, a toy car based on the characters from the company's Cars 2 animated movie. One car sells for $US12.99 while a two-pack goes for $US19.99. Its first toy in the line is the $US19.99 AppBlaster, a plastic gun for kids over age eight. Indeed, most of the companies say they plan to roll out more products for smartphones and tablets - including some that use Google's Android software - next year.

Making the Wedding Occasion More Special

Making the Most of your Space to Garden LadyPens With all the talk of contaminated store-bought vegetables and the cost of those vegetables rising every day, it makes sense to grow your own whenever and wherever possible. People think that growing fruit and vegetables requires a lot of space but that couldn't be further from the truth with these space-saving tips. More companies are now breeding 'patio' type plants like tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries to grow in more compact form. Look for the words "compact", Home "patio" and "space-saver" when you buy seeds or plants. You can use recycled buckets (make sure they have a way to drain excess water) to plant a compact tomato plant, cucumber plant and a variety of lettuces on a small apartment style porch if you wanted to! Vegetables aren't the only thing going small. Cherries, apples, pears and other fruit bearing trees now come in dwarf varieties. Consider fruiting trees instead of non-fruiting for landscaping, especially if space is limited. A hedge of blueberry plants will not only provide you with a juicy treat in the summer but also give you glorious red foliage for the fall. Edible landscaping makes good use of your space AND your landscaping dollars. Think three-dimensionally with your growing space (or think "the sky is the limit!). If you have a fence or railing, you can use string or chicken wire tacked to your fencing to train cucumbers, sugar-snap peas, tomatoes and pole beans to grow up the fence or railing. Plants like sugar-snap peas and pole beans can be grown close together Click to view and yield abundant crops for the small amount of space they need. Store bought or homemade trellises will allow you to gain a large amount of vertical space. Don't forget that while you might have stuff growing UP, that you have lots of space going DOWN as well. It only takes a 6"-8" space from the base of your upward growing sugar snaps or pole beans to create a row of radishes or lettuce. The radishes will mature very quickly and your upward growing plants will shade your tender lettuces. I have a vertical bed which trellises my upward growing plants but I also have the bed do double duty by planting radishes, carrots and lettuces in front of the bed. Don't forget space hidden in plain view. Instead of planting those marigolds next to the walkway this year, go for alternating plantings of green Tiffany Rings UK and red leaf lettuce and a collection of herbs. Instead of planting just any old ground cover, consider edible ground cover like cranberries (a new variety does NOT require a bog and is a beautiful ground cover that will give you cranberries by fall). Instead of hanging baskets of flowers, you can plant a hanging tomato plant or a basket of the patio-style cucumbers. These are just a few ideas to get you looking at your space in a different way. Just remember: The sky is the limit and there is no rule as to what you have to use to landscape your property. Get creative! The History of Shadow Puppetry

Most historians believe shadow puppetry originated in China some 2,500 years ago, though the art certainly has its roots in many cultures throughout the world. It likely developed somewhat independently in other nations in the years following its birth in China. The story of the art's development is muddled with tragedy and romance. According to legend, the first shadow puppet was created to soothing the aching heart http://www.pandoracharms-jewelrys.us/ of the emperor Wu Han. His most beloved concubine died from a sudden illness and the emperor dropped into a deep and lasting depression. He lost interest in life and began to neglect all his leadership duties. His advisers made every effort to console Wu Han but in spite of their attempts, nothing brought the man back from his sorrowful living grave. That is, until one of the finest artists in the land created a shadow puppet of his beloved. It was constructed from donkey-hide leather and made in such a way as to make it possible to mimic the movements of a living person. The artist set up an illuminated silk screen and performed puppetry with the concubine's likeness, creating the first shadow theater performance. The story goes that the artist even spoke in the cadence and tone of the deceased woman, Click To View stirring the Emperor from his depression and refocusing him on continuing in life. Though the historic accuracy of this tale has never been proven, it has become the most well known story of the origins of shadow theater in China. The spread of the art from China to other areas of the world is believed to be in large part due to Mongol influence. The belief is that the conquering Mongols commonly enjoyed shadow puppetry performances in their tents in the evenings and that carried the art with them to other regions of the world in their conquests, reaching Persia, Arabia, and Turkey. Later, the tradition would take root in southern Asia and eventually would establish a hold in nearly every area of the world. India has one of the longer traditions in shadow puppetry, with the art reaching prominence in the 1500s. The reign of King Kona Bhuda Reddy is a period of particular growth in India. Indian puppeteers during this period used some of the largest puppets known in history. Taiwanese shadow plays were very popular during the 15th and 16th centuries and the tradition has remained prominent today. The puppets used in Taiwan are between eight and 12 inches in height and made of leather. More than 300 shadow play scripts, dating as far back as the 14th and 15th century, are among the countries cultural treasures. The shadow puppetry of Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia continues to thrive today. All of these countries have a long tradition of shadow Pandora Jewelry Charms theater, with performances occurring at social gatherings, religious ceremonies, and unique entertainment events. In all three counties, the puppets are made of leather, as in the Chinese tradition. The Turkish tradition of shadow theater can be traced back to the Ottoman Empire. Many historians believe that Ottoman Shadow puppetry may have potentially arisen from Egyptian heritage rather than exposure to the Chinese art. There is no definite proof either way though. Today's Turkish and Greek shadow puppetry is credited to the historical Ottoman shadow theater. The original Ottoman characters and plays were adapted to the language and culture of Greece in the 1800s. Greek shadow theater continues to be popular today. French Shadow puppetry began in the mid-1700s after French missionaries brought the practice back from China. The first shadow puppetry was performed in 1767 in Paris and Marseilles. As with each country in which the art appears, it was adapted to the local culture and customs, giving it a strong foothold in the history of French theater. The advent of modern forms of entertainment has been a powerful force in the decline of shadow theater in popular culture. At one time in many parts of the world, the art was highly valued and shadow plays were commonplace. The emergence of television is credited with the decline of shadow puppetry in Greece. Movie theaters and television are also responsible for its drop in popularity in France and Turkey. While shadow theater is not as popular as it once was, and plays are not commonly performed in as many locations, it is still a well appreciated art. Modern performances are highly valued and held in theaters across the globe. The importance of shadow plays in Asian culture is still very apparent, and they remain common in everyday life in many countries throughout the region.

The History Of Rubber Bands

The ancient Mayan people used latex in order to make hollow human figures, rubber balls, and as bindings used to secure the axe heads to their handles as well as for other functions. In the 19th century, to be more specific in the 1820s, he patented elastic fastenings for shoes, suspenders, stockings and gloves. In 1823, Charles Macintosh patented his method of making waterproof garments using Click To View rubber dissolved in coal-tar naphtha for cementing two pieces of cloth together. A few years later in 1837 he patented the masticator which was used on a large scale since then. On March 17, 1845, a man by the name of Stephen Perry belonging to the rubber manufacturing company Messers Perry and Co., Rubber Manuf London patented the first rubber bands made of vulcanized rubber. He invented them in order to hold papers and envelopes together. 31 years later, Sir Henry Wickham collected about 70,000 rubber tree seeds from the Para rubber tree. Commercial rubber production now takes place in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka (but not significantly in South America). One year later, in 1877, Chapman Mitchell discovered that the rubber can be recycled into new products. In the present, approximately of the rubber in production is made out of crude oil. There are 20 grades of synthetic rubber and intended end use determines the selection. Generally speaking, in order to make synthetic rubber, byproducts Pandora Jewelry Charms of petroleum refining called styrene and butadiene are mixed in a reactor containing soapsuds. Due to the reason that the rubber plants are located in hot, damp regions near the Equator, 90% of the rubber production takes place in the Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. Because the production in Indonesia has dropped in the last few years, several plantations were built in Africa in order to fill in the gap.

The cliché of some trainee or even senior stylists getting carried away with their £2000 silver plated scissors and practically scalping you when you only asked for a trim are unfortunately far from urban myths. I remember when I first stopped letting my mum cut my hair after I asked for layers and she gave me a Ronnie Wood style mullet. I have since pandoracharms-jewelrys learned that it was an attempt to curb my whinging about the latest 'fad' hairstyle and she wanted to teach me a lesson. Well, a lesson she did teach. The trauma stayed with me far after the hair cut had grown out. I did however learn a lot about hairdressers from my mum. She must have tried every salon in Leeds until she finally settled on Harvey Nichols's Pandora Jewelry USA Daniel Hersheson salon in the up-market Victoria Quarter. Apparently they do highlights like no other. By the time I was 18 I knew which Tony and Guy's were as dangerous as Edward scissor hands on Acid and where the best Aveda selections were sold. Leeds has a smorgasbord of hairdressing establishments, all of whom have a high standard to match the high expectations of the Leeds woman Pandora Beads On Sale . From boutique spa style where you can enjoy a simultaneous manicure to modern, stark stainless steel barber shops. I did my research religiously, comparing friends haircuts and scouring the internet harder than a frying pan's worth of baked on grease. I wanted to make sure that when the time came to step out into the forest of hairdressing and make my own way through the trees, when I came out the other side I didn't look like I had been dragged through it backwards.

Business Name in the Title Tag

Should I Put My Business Name in the Title Tag The title tag is an html tag which occurs in the header of a web page's code. The first thing I look at when I get a call from a prospective client is their title tag. The title tag came in at number 1, and this is no surprise to any SEO that has been around for awhile. Google especially pays a lot of attention to title tag content, and uses title tag information heavily to ascertain the relevant keyphrases for which http://www.pandoracharms-jewelrys.us/ to rank a site. The opinion of search engine experts is unanimous on this one - keyphrase use in the title tag is the number one "on page" factor affecting search engine rankings. This is not disputed, theorized or subject to professional debate. It is a fact. Given this fact, we must look at how to best use the title tag to optimize our site for search engines. Many sites place the business pandoracharms-jewelrys name in the title tag (or even worse yet leave it blank or with default content such as "untitled document" or "home page"). Any of these variations can be disastrous! Let's use an example of a company that manufactures widgets. The primary keyphrase for that company would be "widgets", this being the phrase for which the company would like to rank highly for in the search engines. Now let's assume the company name is "ACME Manufacturing Company, Ltd.". Notice that the word "widgets", which is the Cheap Pandora Charms desired keyphrase, is not extant in the company name. So the company goes out and builds a wonderful web site to promote their widgets. However, throughout the site the title tag contains the following content: "ACME Manufacturing Company, Ltd." What is the effect of this? First off, the effect of this is that the site will likely rank highly for the search query "ACME Manufacturing Company, Ltd.". The problem is that nobody is searching for the company name, they are searching for widgets. So all of ACME's competition shows up in the search engines for a widget query, but poor ACME is nowhere to be found. How do we help ACME rank highly for the search query "widgets"? We must optimize the title tag for the search engines by replacing the current title tag content with the desired search query: "widgets". Generally speaking, the company name Cheap Pandora Bracelets should never appear in the title tag unless you actually expect to derive most of your traffic from searches involving your company name. As this is a rare situation, avoid the temptation to put your company name in the title tag - save it for elsewhere on your page. Put your desired search keyphrases in the title tag, and leave it at that. Following this methodology throughout your site by optimizing title tag content for each page according to the desired search query for that page will be a major step in the right direction for high search engine rankings. Should I or Shouldn't I

It seems like debates are popping up everywhere! Supporters contend that the large amount of carbohydrates in our diet has led to increased problems with obesity, diabetes, and other health situations. On the other hand, some attribute obesity and related health problems to over eating http://www.pandoracharms-jewelrys.us/ of calories and lack of physical activity. They also express concern that without grains, fruits, and vegetables in low-carbohydrate diets may lead to deficiencies of some key nutrients, including vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, and many minerals. It is already known that any diet, whether high or low in carbohydrates, can produce meaningful weight loss during the early stages of the diet. Keep in mind, the key to a diet being successful is in being able to lose the weight on a Click To View permanent basis. Let's see if we can expose some of the mystery about low-carb diets. Following, is a listing of some related points taken from recent studies and scientific literature. Point 1 - Some Differences Between Low-Carb Diets There are many famous diets created to lower carbohydrate consumption. Lowering total carbohydrates in the diet means that protein and fat will Cheap Pandora Beads take up a proportionately greater amount of the total caloric intake. Low carbohydrate diet like the Atkins Diet restrict carbohydrate to a point where the body becomes ketogenic (a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that includes normal amounts of protein). Other low-carb diets like the Zone and Life Without Bread are less confined. Some, like Sugar Busters announce only to eliminate sugars and foods that elevate blood sugar levels excessively. Point 2 - What We Know about Low-Carb Diets +Close to all of the studies to date have been small with a diversity of research objectives. Carbohydrate, caloric intake, diet duration and participant characteristics are wide-ranged greatly. Most of the studies to date have two things in common, none of the research studies had people in the study with a average age over 53 and none of the controlled studies lasted more than 90 days. +The results on older adults and long-term results are scarce. Many diet studies fail to keep track of the amount of exercise, and therefore caloric use, while people in the study are dieting. This helps to explain the variances between studies. +If you lose weight on a low-carb diet it is a function of the calorie intake and length of the diet, and not with reduced amount of carbohydrates. +There is very little evidence on the long-range safety of low-carb diets. Even though the medical community has concerns, no short-term bad effects have been found with cholesterol, glucose, insulin and blood-pressure levels among the people in the study on the diets. Because of the short period of the studies the adverse effects may not show up. Losing weight typically leads to improvement in these levels, and this may offset an increase caused by a high fat diet. The over-all weight changes for low-carb and other types of diets are similar. +Most low-carb diets can cause ketosis. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and confusion are some of the potential consequences. When first starting a low-carb diet some fatigue and constipation may be met and these symptoms usually disappear quickly. +Some report that you can have more calories when on a low-carb diet. Remember a calorie is a calorie no matter what you intake. When the study is not closely supervised variations will result by people cheating in the study on many factors of the study. There are three important factors I would like to re-emphasize: 1.- The over-all success rate for low-carb and other types of diets are similar. 2.- Small amount of information exists on the long-term efficacy and safety of low-carb diets despite their huge popularity, 3.- Dieters usually experience boredom with a strict version of the low-carb diet and are not able to stay on diets of low carb food. After observing the subject, a more severe and controlled study are needed on a long-range basis. The ketosis produced is abnormal and stressful metabolic state. The results may cause more problems than it solved. By picking a reliable diet you will benefit over a lifetime of proper eating and not a weight loss quickie. An excellent rule of thumb is look at the diet long-range and see if you can see yourself still on that diet after a couple of weeks. Most of his knowledge is from investigating the many faucets for a healthy being. You can learn more of low carb dieting by visiting:
